Well there are things that you may have to follow if you want to rent with bad credit. First off avoid a place if you can that will ask to run a credit check. Though some places may still let you move in, it is more than likely that you will be turned down.

You can always try and get a recommendation from someone. Getting a past landlord or a bank to give you a recommendation could be all it takes to rent even though. That will dampen the outlook of the person you’re trying to rent from and possibly get you into that place.

Another way to rent with bad credit is to look for a place that no credit check is performed. Yes there are still some places that don’t run these. Or even a person who is renting a home, sometimes all they want is the money. In that case they may not even run a credit check, only ask you how your credit is.

Playing it down a bit, you may be able rent if you have bad credit. Just make sure that you make those payments on time. They could be a possible future recommendation when you move to another place. Don’t burn a bridge and continue bad credit ways but try and build up the credit to a favorable amount.

To get a co-signer. But when picking a person to co-sign it can be a bit tricky. Make sure it’s someone who knows they can trust you, many people balk at co-signing because they are worried. Again you will need to keep those payments up, or you may lose a friend and co-signer in the process.

Some other places will allow you rent even though your credit is bad as long as you pay more money up front. Depending on how bad your credit is, they will charge you money according to that. Yes it can be pretty expensive. However, you will be able to rent with bad credit in this way and have a roof over your head.

Finally when you rent and have bad credit, work on your credit. Get a consolidation loan, or something and get that rating higher. Fixing it so that you won’t need to worry about whether you need to rent even if you have again. Pay your bills on time and get your credit rating up.
